In a report released last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated 1 in 88 children in the United States has received a diagnosis of autism or a related disorder. The report has renewed the debate over the causes and diagnostic criteria for autism. While there's no sign in an actual increase in the number of kids with autism, the report has sparked a great deal of controversy.
